4 Months Old!!!

Capri is now 4 months old. Can't believe how fast our little girl is growing. She has come up on major milestones this past month. Here are some things you started doing:
June 19 - Rolled from back to front for the first time.
June 24 - Started sleeping in your crib during the night
July 10 - First time in a pool
July 11 - Rolled from front to back. You are now roll across the carpet!
So many more things to look forward to!

Practicing to sit up all by myself

Every morning is something different now.
She didn't even cry!

Capri's First 4th of July

Well summer is here, and we are just loving all the festivities that come with it. For the 4th, we spent the day with Uncle Brady and Auntie Jamie at Jamie's sisters house. We were surrounded with great friends. We had a great time, even though we did not stick around for the fireworks, it was getting too cold, and Capri was ready for bed. Here are some pics from our wonderful day.

Its Been Awhile

Well it has been awhile since our blog has been updated. A lot has happened since January. First of all our baby girl is here! She is actually almost 4 months old already. Capri Elisabeth has been a blessing to our family and she brings smiles to our faces every day, we fall more in love with her every day.

Here are the events of her arrival:
March 5 was the due date, but our princess was not quite ready. Sunday, March 7 I started having contractions, well that is what I assumed they were. Kyle and I went to Fridays for dinner and during dinner they started getting more intense, then I really knew what they were. Around 8 o'clock we started timing them, 7 - 9 minutes apart. Then after 9, it was hard for me to get comfortable and they were coming a lot faster. We tried going to bed, but at 11:00 pm we decided it was time, contractions were less than 5 minutes apart. So we packed up Khloe(our dog) and the rest of our stuff, met my parents who took Khloe to thier house for us, and went to the hospital. When we checked in, I was only dialated to a 1, so that lead to 2 1/2 hours of walking the halls, which was really hard for me. Kyle was a good sport through the wee hours of the night. Finally at 4:30 a.m. I was dialated enough to be admitted, got my epidural, and was finally able to rest. It was a long day. We were fortunate enough to be visited by wonderful friends and family. Our parents were also there at 6:30 in the morning and stayed the entire time. Even getting ready for the epidural, I had to sit still during a contraction and there was my dad making jokes! It did help ease the pain a little. With our family and friends there it allowed Kyle some time to take some breaks too. My labor was going so fast, but once the epidural hit, everything slowed down. I was not dialating very fast even with the pitocin. They broke my water around noon, and things still were still not progressing. The idea of a C-Section was brought up, due to the fact that she was sunnyside, they did not like how the labor was going. But the doctor did something and voila! Almost 24 hours of labor and an hour and a half of pushing, at 8:07 on March 8, 2010 our Capri Elisabeth was born, weighing in at 6lbs 15oz, 19 3/4 inches long. We were ectastic! Our little girl was here and perfect. Our family got to see her briefly before she was taken to the NICU. She had to go there due to the fact that I spiked a fever during delivery, it was just to monitor her and make sure there was no infection. There wasn't thank goodness. The next day was hard because she was not there with me. But fortunately when I was released on Wednesday she was able to come home with us. The first few days were rough, but we had great support by our wonderful friends and family.
Capri - 1 day old

The first six weeks went by so fast. Each day was something new with Capri, a learning experience for both Kyle and I. We loved every minute. Unfortunately I had to go back to work on May 3. Capri was lucky to have both sets of grandparents watch her while mommy and daddy were at work. It was hard leaving her, but I knew she was in good hands. I worked for about six weeks and now am off for summer vacation! I love waking up every morning to Capri's smiling face. We have been going to Stroller Strides in the morning and then we just hang out, sometimes going to have lunch with friends and family. On June 19 she rolled over for the first time! Every week seems to be something new with her. I love watching her grow. Here are some pics of our princess during her first 3 1/2 months.

Also on June 21st, Kyle and I celebrated our 2-year wedding anniversary. We celebrated by flying to Vegas with some very close family friends (Thank you again Linda and Dale), had a great lobster dinner, saw The Lion King, and had a great massage! Brady, Jamie and Rob were also out there, so we spent time with them too!

We are very blessed and have so much to be thankful for.
